COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A site plan with a number of conditions for the proposed expansion of a manufactured home park which has drawn the ire of nearby property owners was approved by the Coldwater Planning Commission on Monday night.
Michigan Trail Tree Village made a request back in April for a Special Land Use Permit.
Plans call for 76 new units to be built on a vacant parcel of land that totals just under 18 acres. The land is located between Seeley and Smith Streets.
Neighboring property owners expressed their opposition on Monday night.
The request for a fence led to this discussion between Planning Commission members Jessika Cole and Tom Kramer.
Chris Stevens was among the Planning Commission members who were satisfied with what was presented.
Second Ward Coldwater City Council member Jim Knaack has said the project would not fit in the neighborhood.
Conditions called for the city to approve a storm water management plan as well as a plan for soil erosion and sediment control. In addition, the Seeley Street access would have to be relocated to the northeast of the site and sidewalks will have to be extended from Thompson Blvd. to the eastern extent of the site. The dumpster location have been taken out of the plans.
The final Site Plan also had to be reviewed by the Planning Commission at a public meeting.
