DC Comics has unveiled a first-look preview of Al Ewing and Jahnoy Lindsay's Absolute Green Lantern. The Absolute Universe book's inaugural issue will hit comic book shelves in March 2025.
The reveal came at DC's All-In/Absolute Universe panel at New York Comic Con, where Ewing was on hand to discuss the upcoming series and being part of DC's All-In initiative. The preview showcases Lindsay's bold new take on the Green Lantern Corp as excitement for the new universe continues to build following the Absolute Batman's successful debut. Ewing revealed that Absolute Green Lantern will have a similar aesthetic to other Absolute Universe titles, including Absolute Superman and Absolute Wonder Woman, and discussed other corp members that will appear in the series alongside Jo Mullein.
James Gunn's DCU will need to capitalize on this beloved hero if it hopes to be successful.
DC first revealed Absolute Green Lantern at San Diego Comic-Con, with the All-In initiative architect and Absolute Batman writer Scott Snyder hailing the upcoming series as some of Ewing's best work ever. Absolute Green Lantern will reimagine the titular group and is described as a first-contact story that will incorporate multiple Lanterns alongside Jo Mullein, including fan favorites like Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
Absolute Green Lantern writer Ewing is also working on another DC All-In series alongside artist Steve Lieber. Metamorpho: The Element Man will debut this December, with Ewing revealing he is a huge fan of the classic DC character and that he could not resist writing the story. Ewing is looking forward to seeing what zany shapes for Metamorpho his collaborator Lieber comes up with.
Wonder Woman just called back to her own iconic origin story to help bring one of the greatest heroes of DC's Future State into the present day.
Snyder and Nick Dragotta's Absolute Batman kicked off the Absolute Universe side of things for the new DC All-In initiative and the first issue, which arrived on October 9, was a huge hit. The book's second printing sold out before its October 30 release, with DC heading back to the press for a third time. The Absolute Batman #1 cover sold for a whopping $70,000, and Dragotta's original art for the book is the highest-grossing of all time for a modern artist.
Absolute Batman #1's third printing, which arrives on November 27, will feature the main and variant cover art of Dragotta and series colorist Martin, a "Bats Are Crazy" variant cover based on Dragotta and Martin's art, and a variant cover featuring original art by Jerome Opeña. DC is hoping its upcoming Absolute Universe releases, including Kelly Thompson's Absolute Wonder Woman, will sustain the momentum.
Absolute Green Lantern #1 will arrive in comic book shops on March 11, 2025.

The "shiny new object" effect. Is driving the success of the Absolute universe. If even one of these books fails it could cause the whole thing to crash and burn.
