‘Family problems’ led man to snap 8 trees planted outside Portland’s federal courthouse - oregonlive.com

A man who snapped eight young trees in half along the perimeter of the downtown federal courthouse was sentenced Monday to the month he’s already served.

Toan V. Tran was caught on surveillance cameras around 9:25 a.m. on Feb. 8 grabbing each tree, pulling them down and breaking them, causing at least $3,993.65 worth of damage, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole M. Hermann.
