The New York Botanical Garden is a serene, beautiful location during the year but in October, it gets a spooky twist as Disney’s “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” Light Trail takes over the grounds.
See characters Jack Skellington, Sally and Zero come to life in different scenes from the movie. There are 8,300 square feet of light installations with interactive video projection, LED lighting, and 3D-printed sculptures.
The lights trail was created by Adventurelive, the producing team behind Broadway’s “Hamilton,” and LETSGO, the Madrid-based creative team behind Tim Burton’s Labyrinth and Lights in Nature, and presented by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical.
Disney’s “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” Light Trail is open at dusk every Thursday to Sunday, through November 30 (but closed on Thanksgiving), with added time slots at 9 pm and 9:30 pm due to increasing demand. Tickets start at $39 (timed entry) or $55 (flex entry).
The New York Botanical Garden is located at 2900 Southern Blvd., The Bronx, NY. There’s also a Fall-O-Ween celebration taking place through October 27 at various times. Activities include pumpkin carving, Pumpkin Palooza, Fall Forest Weekends, scarecrow displays, costume contests, and meet-and-greets with pumpkin growers.
