'Tis the season to flip the switch on downtown Fort Collins' holiday lights.

Crowds filled Old Town Square to watch the city's holiday lights turn on for the season Friday night. The lights — which illuminate 22 block-faces of downtown, with thousands of strands of lights lining alleyways, sidewalks and treetops — will turn on nightly through Valentine's Day.

Fort Collins' downtown holiday lights are installed annually as part of a partnership between the city and the Fort Collins Downtown Development Authority.
